Capella is the second offspring of Stonyridge Alpaca’s best true black female, Peaceful Valley Grace, and Aussie, Rockford, a notable powerhouse of grey genetics. Named after the brightest star in the constellation, Auriga, she's been living up to her name.
Capella's head will immediately grab your attention, followed by her excellent size of bone, perfect bite, and correct balanced frame. She is covered with shiny, black fleece exhibiting consistent crimp and wonderful handle from her skin to the tip. Her pedigree is a phenomenal combination of four generations of black and grey genetics perfectly balanced with Accoyo/Peruvian bloodlines from Yupanqui, Felix, and Guellermo.
Capella's dam, Grace, is a Michelangelo daughter who displays a captivating elegance and presence. Grace's award winning history at halter and fleece always placed her at the top of her class. Grace has proven to be an excellent mother transferring high IgG levels to her cria, producing ample milk and subsequent weight gain in her cria. She has been an easy breeder, carrying problem free pregnancies, and easy births.
Capella's sire, Aussie Rockford, is a 1/2 Accoyo silver grey proving himself a prepotent male with an enviable record of over 90% grey or black offspring from a variety of dam colors. He is a national award winning male whose show career highlights included 1st place at 2000 CABA, Estes Park, and Sun City Sizzle, 2nd at AOBA nationals; and 1st place at 2001 AOBA nationals at halter and fleece, EVAA fleece and Alpaca Adventure fleece shows.
