Silver Mist is quite simply, a gorgeous alpaca. Her alert presence, elegant head, excellent conformation, and wonderfully gentle personality make her hard to miss. Her well-balanced frame is covered with beautiful medium silver gray fleece exhibiting the fineness one would expect from her pedigree. Just one look at her consistent histograms with her fleece still baby fine at 7 years tells you why we had to have her as one of our foundation girls.
Her dam, PLA’s Silver Empress, has also maintained her fleece quality and fineness into adulthood. Empress has produced quality cria in a wide range of deep colors including Mist's 1/2 brother, the awesome true black Michelangelo. Mist’s sire, Synopsis Nocturna, still maintained a 21 micron jet-black fleece at 4 years of age. His outstanding fleece was awarded 1st place at the 1999 AOBA National Conference.
Following in her sire's footsteps, Silver Mist placed 1st consistently when shown. Her histograms have hardly moved over a seven year period, and her offspring are incredible!
Silver Mist's 2003 true black female cria, Panache, is sired by Aussie Rockford. She too is an elegant alpaca, with amazing presence, jet black color, and shiny, crimpy fleece. She inherited the best of both parents, and continued Mist's award winning record placing 1st and Color Champion at the 2004 Alpaca Affaire. Mist's 2005 cria, Ishtar, is yet another jet black female cria sired by Patagonia's Compadre. Ishtar too has garnered many ribbons for her 21.6 AFD fleece.
Silver Mist’s 2008 true black male cria, Pinonn, out of Victor's Julius, a dark brown 1/2 Accoyo Victor son, is one to watch. He was too young to show in 2008, but will be debuting in 2009. Watch for him! |
