Dulcinea is a gorgeous young alpaca. Her dam is Michela's Sweet Ariel, a rose grey dynamite daughter of Aussie Rockford. Ariel is the first born of this pairing and has reliably produced four award winning grey offspring so far. Undefeated in the show ring as a yearling, Ariel retired to foundation dam status in 2004 after her career highlight as Color Champion at the Level V AWE show. She continues to earn top honors as her first two cria have been knockout females. Dulci is Ariel's first born & has inherited her dam's typey look and stellar fleece in a rich brown, with crimpy independent locks, excellent density, and soft hand. Dulcinea's sire is Victor's Julius, a dark brown Victor son out of one of Timberland Alpaca's foundation grey dams. Julius had his own successful run in the show ring, but his greatest value is now in his growing list of Champion offspring, and the consistent brightness of fleece that he passes on. With a six year histogram of 22.2 micron and an SD of 4.5, Julius is the type of male you want in your foundation bloodlines. Dulcinea is one of those alpacas who is really hard to fault. She is named after the fictional true love of Don Quijote who imagines her as the most beautiful of all women. You don't have to use your imagination here. Dulcinea is truly one beautiful alpaca. She may be one of those greys disguised in a brown coat; 80% of her four generation pedigree is either grey or black. |
