Alpaca Organizations
Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA) This is the national alpaca breeders' association. They provide education, maintain a library, send orientation materials to interested potentials and have a marketing program. Alpaca shows are sanctioned through them. AOBA sponsors national conferences in winter and summer. Marit has been a member of the education committee.
Alpaca Ranchers of the NorthWest (AROW) AROW is an affiliate of AOBA serving the greater Clark County area north and east. The group is dedicated to breeder education and information. AROW hosts "An Alpaca Affaire," a composite show each year. Dues are $65.00 a year for full farm and $15.00 for associates. Marit has served this affiliate as membership chairperson and show ribbon chairperson.
Columbia Alpaca Breeders Association (CABA) This AOBA affiliate may be the longest lived in the Northwest and is made up of farms in Oregon, Washington and California. CABA is comprised of over 100 members and offers a wide array of benefits to prospective and experienced breeders. Marit has served the organization as secretary.

Anatolian Shepherd Resources
Anatolian Shepherd Dogs International (ASDI) There are several breed associations and it can become quite confusing. We chose ASDI for their friendly support and willingness of the membership to help newcomers. ASDI also has a "Code of Ethics Breeders" designation to which some breeders subscribe. COE breeders pledge to hold themselves to a high level of accountability.

Charitable Organizations

The Cheetah Conservation Fund This organization is dedicated to the preservation of cheetahs in Namibia. Anatolian Shepherds are being used to assist in this effort.
Heifer International This organization is dedicated to ending hunger in the world. Benefactors can buy animals or shares of animals as gifts to be sent to needy and hungry families throughout the world.
