JULY 19, 2021. AT THE AGE OF 20 YEARS, LACEY LET US KNOW THAT SHE WAS FINISHED. SHE WAS AN AMAZING GIRL AND WILL BE SORELY MISSED.

Lacey is one of the first alpacas born on our farm. She lived out her days here as an auntie. Sh was unflappable and easy going. Every farm needs at least one like her.

"Lacey" was a rock solid foundation female. The daughter of an elegant Bolivian dam and an AOBA Nationals blue ribbon dark rose grey Peruvian herdsire, Royal Peruvian Challenger, and the granddaughter of Mr. Know It All, Lacey is a true-blue American beauty.

Lace was covered head-to-toe in pearlescent, crimpy fiber. At her first shearing she produced 8.5# of fiber, 5# from the blanket alone, and continued to wow us with her fiber production each year. Lacey's histogram, at 5 yrs, increased only 2 microns from her Tui count, while her SD and CV have decreased. She's still giving us 4.5 to 5# of blanket fiber.

We've just had her 19 year old fleece processed into yarn.

Lacey gave us six cria … four females and two males. All births were trouble free and each cria robust and vigorous. Her son, Sitka, out of Mr. Golden Boy, took first place honors at Alpaca Affair, in both fleece and halter for an over all first place, with the judge exclaiming that his placement was a "no brainer."
